According to this http://www2.ca.uky.edu/afspoultry-files/pubs/Anatomy_Female_reproductive.pdf it takes about 25 - 26 hours to make an egg from start to finish. Amazing!

Thank you all for the great advice!! Okay, I'll collect eggs starting on Sunday just to be sure he's back to feeling like himself. I had him inside here for about 5 hours after his blow dry to make sure he was dry all the way thru. He exploded with fluff after that last partial shot I took. I really should take another picture of him now-- it's FUNNY! It's like he tripled his width! hehee! I'm surprised how much more fluff showed up in the last few hours.

Sager-- at fist, he freaked out when I put him in the sink with the water. He splashed and tried to get out. After a while, he relaxed and just let me soap him up and massage his feathers. I really worked on his rear area a LOT. He didn't seem to mind that at all...

Anyway, when I got to the blow drying with the hair dryer, he was just standing on my counter and he just rotated around and even lifted up his wings so I could blow dry under them. He was really enjoying it. He'd realized by then I wasn't going to kill him. He was talking and crowing by the time I was done. He's such a sweetie!! :)

Your pictures are priceless. I've never seen a soaking wet silkie - it looks like he dissolved in the water. What a major difference all blown out and a SILKIE again. Sure sounds like he enjoyed the dryer. Wish you had shot a video.
