Silkie thread!

oh, I'm pretty sure I'm in roo trouble - they all have combs of some sort. some are tall and spikey and others look like a smushed something.

.

Well his is the smallest of the bunch :( I'm so screwed. Does anyone ever WANT cockrels, on purpose? I can't bear the thought of somebody killing them but I cannot, positively cannot have 6 roosters in my back yard.

When I bought this guy at 7 months (he was just recovering from molt) he carried his wings like this.

About a month later I put him in with my pullets and though they were very nice to him he dropped his wings down
and it's been two months and they are still down. Anyone experience that?

i heard its from stress but i have no clue

He looks like mine sort of does. I have another rooster though that overdominates him, is he your only roo. If he is, i'm not sure what's wrong. if he isn't, does the other roo get after him.

He is the only one in that pen and he's pretty aggresvie to me, often pecking at my feet in a very warning way. Occasionally I hold him down until he quits fighting me and he will leave me alone for a while.

Mine got me today just as I put hm in. It really made me mad. I'm going to be moving mine in a while to breed the silkie hens. Right now he is in with brahmas. His wings used to be like you roos were when I had his brothers. i'll let you know if they change.

I've never had a white silkie egg either--- mine are all tan -- and vary from light to dark.
I think one of my silkies started to lay!!! Does the white egg look like a silkie egg. It is next to a regular sized hen egg.

All my silkie eggs are pure white! Many different silkies from many different breeders....maybe its what they eat?

Where did you get them? I have a very poor hatchery quality silkie pullet with a HUGE walnut comb. She lays like a champ and is broody right now. My high quality boys have smaller combs than she does so I think it can vary....
