Silkie thread!

Look what followed me home today...

two buffs and two whites.

Their "big sisters" (I hope) at 3 months old

And their biggest sisters (who are in desperate need of a bath...)

The two older buffs were a surprise that I was not expecting. Today was a great day, and tomorrow my trios come home!
I see some serious chicken math going on here!! Those are really adorable chicks!

Wow! I'm impressed. Want to come visit??

I'm building this right now for my brother-- it will have a great big window where that hole is in front. :)

Well, here is the thing, Peep. Hubby said I could have 6 chickens. But the way it was explained to me by a dear friend and fellow BYCer, silkies only count as 1/2 of a chicken. And the babies are so teeny, they are only 1/8 of a chicken. So with 4 babies (1/2 of a chicken total) and the four bigger ones (which equals 2 more) and and then the 6 tomorrow (which is really like 3) I only have 5 1/2 chickens. WELL under my limit of six!!!

Thanks!!
I bought two white silkie pullets at the show. They're 2 months old and as cute as can be.
One of the silkies I bought:
LL

I also just hatched out 9/12 eggs from Cj's silkies. I'll try to get pictures of the chicks soon.

I plan on going to my first poultry show here in a couple of weeks, just to watch and learn.
Do people sell their birds at the shows? I have no idea what to expect.

I'm wondering if I should go with a box or two if I find something to bring home..that's if that's even possible? :D
