#1 could be splashI would love it if you all could help me identify the colors of my two week old silkies. They are hatchery chicks, but at the time that is the only place I could find some in my area. Anyway I ordered 4 and got 5. I diffently know which one is the white,1 of 2 blues and buff are that I ordered, so I did not take any pics of those three. Of the two left I should have1 blue , so which one is my second blue and what is the extra one. Here are the pics:
This one is what I thought was white but I could see a tint of grey/blue in the fur. Now the feathers in the wings are coming in and there are a few strands that are black/blue:
The next one is either my second blue or an extra of what color blue/black?
Thanks for helping this newbie out on colors? Really like to know what my extra one is? Very hard now that the white one is showing a tint of color.
I am going to put the antibiotic ointment on... real thin... and keep him confined to the dog carrier over night...
My little boy is going to be so upset when he gets home.. He loves Roger big time.

Thank you. They both were puzzling to me. At first I thought #1 one was an extra white, but I saw a small hint of blue/grey tint, so I was my other "blue" . Then I saw # 2 and thought oh look I got a bonus black, but then I was reading on here about color and saw that s/he had some shades of colors. # 2 is soooo calm. I was going to sell it when it grew bigger, since it really did not have a big crest, but the little sucker decided s/he would just cuddle up and love it when I held him, no peeping just enjoying being held, so I name s/he Sea, since little fuzz is as calm as the sea. Its going to be fun watching them fill out.#1 could be splash
#2 looks like a dark blue
cute babies!
I am a newbie to loving silkies.Started with 4 in a hatchery order, got 2 more while I was waiting for the order, got my order with one extra, and just added three more. The urge is there to add some more. So I would say 4 are not enough. Since they are bantam size you can double to equal one LF.Thanks so much for that advice. I do so appreciate it. Roger is my main squeeze. I have him confined to a crate with sugar water and food. I have plenty of eggs, so, he will get that too.
Those chicks... Makes me think the 4 babies I have now are not enough!
