This is one of my silkies with some chicks that she hatched for other hens. She's a great mum!
I realize that giving your silkie a regular haircut probably counts as sacrilege in these circles... but all our chickens free-range and therefore need to see where they're going. They always become much more agile after visiting the chicken barber

Meet my Silkie, Anastasia! She's a sweetie! This is my first flock and Anastasia along with a little "blue" silkie were a gift! They are hands down the sweetest of my flock!
Looks like a pullet to me too. Actually looks a little like my girl, her brown is much more muted though. My roo sports that pretty reddish brown though.Need some help on this one guys...

She looks just like my hen as well, and the father of the one above - has a very swept back crest, so this is not one of those cases where a boy could have a round crest (SQ roo) because mine isn't even close to SQ. This is his child..
Sometimes, hens crow too. Its crazy, but true! I have heard that some silkies crow one day and lay an egg the next. I would love to know about this too!! My kids are always saying to put leg bands on them. That way we can tell some of them apart.
