Someone please tell me if this is a crazy idea. I have a lone lavender ameraucana bantam (who is finally feel better yay!) she came with a buddy but I'm 90% sure he's a roo so I'm going to rehome him. I was thinking of keeping her with the splashes she grew up with even when they are adults and laying eggs. For some reason eating silkie eggs seems gross to me but thinking of eating Peepers little blue eggs don't bother me as much.
Anyhow would there be a problem I'm not thinking of by keeping all of them together. I figure it would help the numbers of hens versus roos instead of have one roo over 3 hens it would be one over four. I'd hatch out the silkie eggs but keep the ameraucana eggs for consumption. Easy enough to tell the eggs apart right?
Besides what does silkie x ameraucana equal? Easter egger? Maybe a silkied easter egger on occasion idk....
