could you make it so all your birds could run around in the goose neck

When I haul them up, there will be a horse who doesn't do well around things smaller than him... So no...

I also have a bunch of old towels, I was going to use them instead of shavings or traditional bedding material, less things to fly out of the cages and end up in the horse's eye... I like the cucumber idea, I can get watermelon cheep down here, a large melon for a $1, so I could use that too and I know they love the WM... The cucumbers not so much...

The only reason I avoided the melon idea (I have used it) is the stickiness factor. But if that's not a problem for you, then they are suppled with food and moisture for the trip.
