I am so IN LOVE with my girl's color! If I were to start a breeding project for this color, how do you think I would proceed? I think it is absolutely gorgeous with the white,silver/blue,and buff together! I am just so ECSTATIC about it, and really want to plan out a breeding program. What color roo would I use? I have her, and then I have the blue splash. Could I use a buff to start? Obviously I want to cover the color as well as type and temperament, so slow and steady starting next year I hope! What do you all think? Just having a brainstorming moment

This is the color dry.

PS: she came from partridge eggs, and had partridge coloring when hatched but got progressively lighter.

Even after being scattered to the 4 winds yesterday by a dog, my girls gave me three eggs this evening!

Joe said it had to do with "pooping" a brick... I just laughed.

In New York state, NPIP only tests for Pullorum. Some states also test for Avian Flu, but I don't think any test for Mycoplasma.

This is 2hot2chicken...... Got locked out of my old act.... Fixing it with Mods but I wanted to get on and post so I created a new act.......

Here is my problem.... I only have so much room and so my DD and me decided we would each focus on breeding and showing 1 color each. I have finally sold most of the other colored birds I had including all of the lavander and porcelain, except 1 little lav chick. Turns out its a cockeral and he is maturing out to be a beautiful looking bird. Has perfect feet with feathering on every single toe, great crest, perfect black comb with not a hint of maroon at all (its true black like his skin) and nice body type..... He has really started filling in so well over the last couple weeks I can't wait to see how looks when he is fully mature.... I keep going back and forth on selling him or keeping him and putting him with my daughter's buffs. Him and the buff rooster she has get along well for the most part. The only thing is we are selling our fertile eggs to help pay for feed and showing and I think pure buff eggs would sell a lot better than a mix of buff and porcelain would? What do you think?

Also he is a cross from catdance (lav hen) and cj (lav split roo) and just turned 6 months old. If I were to go ahead and sell him what do you think he could go for? I'm not good at pricing birds yet and always end up selling my birds for way less than what I should be.....

All advice appreciated! And the pics are from my camera phone and not the best poses from him either and were taken about 3 weeks ago but they r the most recent ones I have right now.......He looks the same other than his tail is filled in more and wider and I think his crest is a lil bit more as well and he is starting to get some streamers. He is going to be a show stopper for sure in a couple more months I think!

Also anyone interested in a mix of Buff (porcelain possible but doubt if he is actually breeding yet, hes trying but not having luck that I have seen), Paint and BBS eggs? I will have 18+ to ship out monday. I tested fertility and set a mix of 30 eggs myself and have 28 developing and going into LD in a couple days, lost 1 the first week and 1 clear, most are under broodies. I can't post an add until I get my old act opened again so thought I would see if anyone was interested here first? pm me for info at this act.
buff pullet
buff cockeral, normally fuller tail but he is moulting right now,,,,,

I love this picture!

Thank you for all of your suggestions! They are definately very "blond" sometimes but they always give you a good laugh & are so sweet! I'm going to work on a door for the run tonight and I'll try and work with them on going up the ramp! When I do the new coop I don't think I'll be using the ramps...seems like that is the easier way to go for chickens! Thanks again!!!

On my coop with a ramp (which isn't as steep as yours ) I used meal worms to coax them right up it. They had it down in two nights. Another thing that really helps is some of those cheap solar lights you can get at Wal Mart. I would put mine right inside the door and a few more in the coop a ways to help them to see better. I had to take the ones inside the coop out in the light during the day and put them back in before bed time. After about a week I didnt need them anymore the had it down. Your run is not safe for them to sleep in raccoons will scare them into flopping against the wire and will pull them thru the wire bite by bite. Best of luck getting them trained.
Here's a pic of my ramp they have no problem using it.
