Silkie thread!

I have a brownish silkie that is not partridge, but I don't believe there are many chocolate silkies available.
I wonder why it is such a hard colour to master?

I don't know enough about the chocolate genetics to understand it

ETA: Image. Like I said "Brown-ish"
Best brood hen I have. She's on her second time this year with me and I've only had her since mid July.

She has no tail! Just like my Rumpy!!! I love her!

and to add, I did have a pair of chocolate roos, I aptly named them Chaco and Taco... (Chaco-taco? those horrid ice cream treats? I thought it was funny...)

Love their names! :gig Yeah she has a weird shape. She's quite old. She is an asset because of her ultra protective broody powers. She is the most aggressive broody I have, which is awesome. I don't fear putting her out free ranging with my older birds. She will WHOOP them. ChicksNherps, she is just mixed colouring. My sizzle George is her father.

Thanks Tiki! :)

We had a lot of food theme chickens - some were named after fast food places. Wendy, Denny, McDonalds. We have one named McChicken, and had a Nacho as well. I'd like one named Burrito. I've had that name in the back of my head for quite some time.

I have a Snow Pea, I really got into Plants vs. Zombies and one of the weapons is a frozen pea shooter, Joe, my DH named her. All of my birds names kinda play off of one another with the exception of the roos...

Thelma and Louise
Psyco and Babble
Lucy and Richardo (RIP buddy!)

The others are more about their physical traits and personalities:
Ms. Rumpy (has no tail)
Momma ( had chicks under her when I got her and it just stuck)
Mustachio (he looks like he has a mustache...)
Lord Fluffy Butt (SG roo... very nice qual bird)
WhatAMess (ALWAYS dirty, no matter how I keep her...)
Snow Pea (see above...)

I only have one silkie and I love her:D I was hoping to get more at the Sussex county fall chicken show in NJ.... Are any of you going with some beauties to sell?? Here's a pic of our girl fluff:)
