Love all the Pictures, I might have missed it on ALL the Posts sent but I have 4 Silkies too but the White ones can't see and I was told I had to clip it, I see in the pics that they aren't clipped any thought for me.. I am a dog groomer and didn't realize I might have to groom my chickens...
I use baby blunt nail scissors and mostly trim their muffs (cheeks). Then I hold them up to eye level and trim anything that is blocking my vision from seeing their eyes. If you are planning to show them there are other methods to employ that in my opinion are a lot of work. The good news is that the feathers stay trimmed until they fall out and are replaced. They aren't like hair that keeps growing. :)

Thanks Peeps! I love Sassy's type I hope to get more like her, hopefully some babies from her.
Rusty came from Catdance eggs. Do you think Sassy and Rusty would be good to breed. I know they say Partridge with Partrige, but what about some Blue Partridge?

I plan on doing the latter. Can't tell you either way yet though :p I only have one blue partridge girl and no BP roosters.

Sassy is beautiful!

yes blue partrdge can go in with your partridge breeding pen there same color on just dilute

You don't have to clip it, but you can. I find they see enough to eat and drink and get around. As long as they can do that.
You can also tie their crest up.

I do it for my Houdan boy Gigi. He is very paranoid and thinks everyone is out to get him. Even when he's alone. I show them, so I don't trim.
