Silkie thread!

I'm in Maine and boy did we feel the earthquake last night! Scared the crap out of all of us. The dog went nuts, the little chick we have inside went crazy. The cats ran and the kids and I jumped and we were trying to figure out what was going on. To us it felt like someone had ran into our house with a mixture of a long rolling thunder. When we went out about 15 minutes late to close the coops up, all the chickens were acting up. They were all being very cranky. Very scary since we don't have earthquakes like that here very often.

Wow! You're not the only one who mentioned an Earth Quake. I've never EVER had one here. At least that was scary enough to remember. I am a sound sleeper though

The reason she/he cannot post photos has nothing to do with iphone; it has to do with not having sufficient posts on byc.  I don;t recall the minimum, but it is more than 7 (# currently listed for robopetz).  Now iphone may be an additional complication; I don;t know; don;t have one.
I can't find the # anywhere. :/ I think it may be 10 posts, but I can't find something to back that up!

Quote: You can learn a lot by asking the judge afterwards to explain why they gave the marks they did (make sure you state that you are new and wanting to learn, and are very non-confrontational). Regardless of whether you agree, you may find out things that he/she considered that you did not, or you may find out that the judge doesn't know beans about the breed, but still learn his/her thought process, which can help you in future. Some exhibitors choose which birds they show at a particular venue based upon who is judging.

Quote: Birds that are disgustingly dirty should be DQed. I'm not talking about a bird that messed in its cage, but one that was obviously simply pulled from its coop/pen and tossed in a cage and brought to the show without any prep. Now some birds manage to stay fairly clean, but many do NOT. One that remains clean may be okay without much or ny prep, but not a muddy/poopy one.
