Silkie thread!

How often does a crowing hen occur? My friend has a crowing silkie and it has NO comb and it doesn't look anything roostery at all! Shoudl it have a comb if it is crowing?
I have had chickens for 45 years. Had one crowing hen. :)
We are late sleepers. Having Percy in the house so long (the Showgirl, the only one that crows) you'd think he would wake us up. Nope. He's a late sleeper, too. He doesn't start crowing until 11:00 A.M! Awesome. He's outside now, but still keeps his late morning hrs.

Now that's more rare than a crowing hen!!

No, I'm glad Leo Pierre's comb is big and growing. My concern is whether or not I should pluck or cut feathers in front of his eyes. He seems to get around and find everything OK...so maybe I should leave it alone?
If he's plenty active I would just check to see if any feathers are actually touching his eyes and pull them.
A romantic scene, looking into the sunset, side by side, in love...with poop on their butts.
Really sweet photo. :)
Lovely!
Real beauty!!!
Great artistic shot. :D
Nice looking buff! Is that a lavender duck?

I've paid my $2 so he's going. He really doesn't look any bigger than any of the other Silkies I've seen at the American shows but I'm shocked to see how he measures up on the scale - but definitely going to enter him as a cock rather than a cockerel. He can pull it off. He looks like he knows what he's doing. (He won't get DQ'd on weight. Maybe just a comment on the card .... )

Hi yall,

Just wondering?... Our lil Sophie has recenty been chirping like she has lost her voice. Its hard to explain but it sounds like someone trying to talk but lost their voice. She still can chirp but when she tries to chirp softly its as if nothing is coming out. Know what im trying to say??? I notice she still can breathe through her nostrils and she still has lots of energy and is able to eat and drink on her own. Heres some info to help you out for people who can give me some input. She is about 2-3 weeks old, a silkie bantam, she eats medicated chick starter feed, she has 100% natural wood pine thats cleaned and filtered (read this of the packaging) and her heating lamp. Oh, fresh water daily but at times some of the wood shavings get in her water till I notice it then change her water. Any more questions you may have please feel free to ask. I am concerned for her as she is our house pet. She already is super spoiled and loved by us already. I hate the thought of something happening to her.

Concerned parent, Rob.

Thank you in advance for your input!!!

I'll try to find a back view of the 127 (not kidding) pics that I took today, if that will help. Gal sold them as male/female. I don't really care- as long as one of my blues cockerels turn out breeder quality.
