Silkie thread!

Oh my gosh, my rooster finally mounted one of my girls this morning-AND-she squatted for him! I don't think I've ever been so excited about the chicken deed before :p The girls usual MO is to beat the snot out of the poor guy when he gets frisky, so this is a big deal for me. Maybe I'll get some eggs soon! FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!

2 weeks! Mark my word!!!

My roosters do not mate until their hens are ready. I'm talking the silkie roosters.. The barred rocks (except Jagger who is a very good boy) will mate anything that moves. Sad.. But they are young yet.

Oh, I so hope you're right! He's been dancing for them for a while now, but they just weren't impressed. He came out this morning and boogied for them and I told him "you're gonna get it"! Guess he did get it, haha!

I LOVE the roo dance, and he's good at it too! All of my other roos seem so uncoordinated compared to him! When my EE roo first started dancing, he'd drop his wing, attempt to shuffle and fall over. Funniest. Thing. Ever!
