Silkie thread!

One thing I did notice about my roo is he's got some gold leakage coming thru on his hackles, NOOOO! I just noticed it today :( My extra rooster (a gorgeous, very dark black) was taken by a hawk, so he's all I have to work with. Will this severely mess with the quality of the chicks bred from him? Or can I just grow them out and select against offspring that show leakage? I'm so disappointed, he's got fab feet, nice tight wings with no gaps, almost no back and a nice full chest (when he poses, which I can't ever get a picture of him doing, turd). Here's a (not so great) pic of him

You may still get some without the leakage, but I'm not sure. He is gorgeous. I would use him and be very selective on the rooster you keep out of him.

I have blue Ameraucanas and 2 of the roosters are blue. One has no leakage, and one has some, and they are brothers. So you should be able to get something out of him.

Type first, colour second. He has nice type IMO.

That's what I was thinking too. I'm really just wanting to get some more pullets from him, and then get them another roo. Are the girls just as likely to show leakage?

Oh, I so hope you're right! He's been dancing for them for a while now, but they just weren't impressed. He came out this morning and boogied for them and I told him "you're gonna get it"! Guess he did get it, haha!
oooh what does this dance look like? I"m new to roosters! I have one that lays eggs, just not for the past few weeks. :) mY roosters have been crowing for a few weeks.
