I wanted to let my "silkie friends" know the good news.......I put 6 of Mysty Blues' eggs in the incubator on December 14th.And, the best part is that at least 4 of them are developing!!!
Hatchday is January 4th. I will be sure to update and post pictures.![]()
Here is a picture of Mysty Blue (left) and Mr. Puff (right)...the Mommy and Daddy of these eggs. These will be the very first chicks from my own silkies and I am SO excited.

I best silkie roo has the loudest crow I've ever heard!Okay thanks!
I have 0 experience with silkies so do the roosters crow like regular ones?
Just adorable!!
Fortunately that stage doesn't last too long. That's not fair, my DW's Silkies I got her are entering that "ugly" "I am getting my big bird feathers" stage. They look so ratty.![]()

What do her wing feathers look like? Are they all identical in color?
Love your photos.

Great news! Lovely flock!!My fuzzy butts are finally laying! So thrilled and surprised to go out this morning, after the coldest night so far (20s) to find eggs in the shelter! If no one goes broody by the end of the week, I'm bringing the eggs inside for a New Year's hatch!![]()
