I will have to try to take good pictures for you guys, but I have 2 splash chicks who have peach and a pale buff colored feathers coming in with the blue splashes on the white background.... They are gorgeous.

Is this just telling me there is buff somewhere in one of the parent's genes?

This is just considered a leakage of gold correct? nothing more than that? I don't care, my 'home growns' are mainly just pets but very pretty. Though I have 2 ladies who want to get eggs off me specifically to try and get my oddball chicks.

Hi everyone!

How soon after your silkies started laying did they go broody? - I have two that just started laying (maybe on their 5th egg) and I was wondering how soon do they usually go broody?

They are sooooo small I cannot see them hatching any chicks...i mean the girls are TINY!!! and so are the eggs.

I have a 1-year old Blue Silkie roo. He has been in cage with his two girlfriends for most of the winter, sadly enough but was getting trampled by my Jersey Giants otherwise. But the problem is, he started acting weird and rocking around on his legs like something was wrong with his feet. I checked his feet several times and there is nothing wrong with them. He was not like that when I put him in the cage. It is plenty large enough for them all to move around, so I don't understand what the problem is. But here is the kicker, about once a week I go out in the morning to do chores and he is wet, from sweat! Or I assume so, since there is not a bowl in there big enough for him to have tried bathing. Can anyone offer an explanation or diagnosis for this poor guy. It is bad enough that his crow sounds like this stupid rubber chicken we have that has a goofy sound it makes when you squeeze it, now he has this weirdness happening to him too.
Thanks for anyone who can crack the case of the sweaty rooster.

I really love this breed!
They are too cute!

I might have to get some chicks!
I live in georgia, could someone let me know if anyone they know sells this breed of chicks here?

Thanks a lot!! :]
