it's not black like the other one its more of a blueish gray color with the yellow tips on its wings and underside and a dot on the head. Does this mean one is gonna be a blk cuckoo and a blue cuckoo? Or will they both feather in the same color?

Quick question:

At what age should a Silkie start and stop laying eggs? Are they seasonal layers? If so, are yours laying now?

Okay more than one question, but thanks for any answers

Mine started laying at 6 months, which was in the fall and they laid like mad all winter. They became broody one at a time till they where all stuffed in one nest. It looked like a box of feathers.

The broody's stopped laying almost a month ago and those that didn't go broody which are a few are still laying. I took the unhatched eggs away from the broody's last week and they are starting to moult now. So it will be a while before they lay again. I don't know an age when they stop laying. I hear they are unreliable layers. Mine are young and they are nearing a year old.

Maybe somebody that has more experience can help you out more. I just know what mine have done so far.
