Silkie thread!

is this bad? ^^^^^^^^^^ i saw this today and i didnt know if something was wrong with the chick or if it was something natural??
What is that? A naked belly?

I can't imagine why no feathers on the belly would be a bad thing at an early age. But I could be wrong!

I have another broody

I had to end up kicking the first one out with the rest of the flock because she just wasn't getting it (not to mention she wasted a dozen eggs I could have sold). Now my splash, Ellie Mae, has decided its her turn. I've been trying to break her for the past 2 weeks but she just wont give up. So yesterday I gave her 2 eggs and that's all her fluffy butt is getting. If she hatches, great. If she doesn't, maybe she'll get over it. These crazy girls are driving me insane. WAIT FOR SPRING SILLIES!!!!!

I was going nuts with one of my blue hens not too long ago. She would NOT stop sitting on those imaginary eggs of hers.

We collect eggs every day and most of the time, there were no eggs in the coop but she didn't care. And any available egg she could get her little "hands" on, she would! lol I finally gave up trying to break her out of her broody mode and started looking into ordering eggs and POOF. She's no longer broody.

I guess she changed her mind about having children this early in the year, thank goodness! lol
If I can wait a couple more months the girls can too!

in case you are thinking of eating your silkie and have never seen them naked. crows have black meat too.
Eeww....looks kinda creepy. lol

I am planning to pick up my first pair of black silkies soon. I wanted to know how many silkie eggs can a silkie sit on and successfully hatch? I have been thinking about buying some silkie eggs and letting her incubate them when it gets warmer. Thanks!

Looks like two processed chickens ready for the crock pot to me. Taste just like chicken...because Silkies are chickens. Not poodles. Silkies have been raised for food for thousands of years and are still raised for food. Like aoxa says. Not for everyone but there's nothing wrong with people that want to and do eat them. Just saying...

Okay heads up to all my BYC peeps, this is Chicksnherps. My laptop was stolen and I am unable to retrieve my password for my old account.... SO! This is me, and this is most likely going to be my farm name also

Oh, that stinks. I hope no valuable personal info was on it. Gonna take a while to get used to the new name. Make sure to put it in your Sig line for a while

Those aren't silkies though. 4 toes, and just look too big to me.

I have never seen anyone pluck an entire chicken from head to toe. Very strange to me. But whatever one likes - go for it. :)
