Great pictures everyone! Love these silkies! I just put my precious eggs into lockdown last night. 15 of the 16 are looking real good.

Hey y'all I got some questions
first is it okay to use a bbs black in a paint pen?
second I know ur not suppose to eat eggs for about a month after worming but can I hatch eggs within the months time?
lastly I don't know if my new roo is doin the job : I see him doing the dance and I cracked an an egg and the dot is a ring instead of a a solid circle , what does this mean?
thanks in advance

anyone??

The fertile egg is supposed to look like a target with a circle and a dot in the middle. Painted Feather (Chicknherps) posted a picture of it not that long ago. If it doesn't look like that I don't think it is fertile.

Don't know about hatching eggs when medicating or worming. I know you can worm a pregnant mare and the medication will be absorbed by the foal in utero, same with a woman (not worming a woman but medications

).

Hope this helps some.

Wishing you all the best on those eggs!!
Out of my entire flock of 20 week olds, my one and only silkie hen was the first to give me my first egg! A nice, clean creamy white one...
