What is a champion silkie. I have a white one with no feathers on her neck. The person I got her from said she was a champion silkie. I also have a blue hen and a shadow rooster. I am a newbie at this. How often do you bath them and do you bath the whole chicken or just their feet?

um... probably means she won show champion lol. Is she a showgirl or "naked neck"? Also, there is no such thing as a "shadow" silkie... do you mean black? or grey? Do you have pics? They would help a lot =)

Actually, he's regulating it! I can never get it to 102 without going way over, it's been staying at 99-101. When he is on top it goes to exactly 102 and keeps the humidity where it should lol!

Nahh usually between 99.0 to 102.

I have an LG still air, I have heard it is best to keep it at 102, but my egg is doing fine with the range between 99 and 102.

Thanks PF, hope its not too late, I already taped their legs,.. fingers crossed! wait... not theirs but mine... lol! Is there something I should do to avoid this? I think the nest floor was too smooth...

In my hatcher, I use strawberry containers (plastic with lots of holes) and I put a folded up paper towel in the bottom, a piece of burlap on top of that, and then the eggs with plenty of room for hatching. This provides good traction for their little feet, plenty of absorption to help them dry off, and good air circulation as well.

One of my grey girls looks like this when she is molting but she is darker normally, so he may darken up as he gets older. What a handsome boy
