Well... looks like I am going to have to cull Nori

I can't get the egg to budge, it is wrapped inside the ovaduct membrane once again. We worked at it for a few hours with no luck, just prolapsing. I can't even feel the egg shell when I palpate inside her ovaduct, just the egg wrapped in membrane. I need to put her out of her suffering.... I can't even do it myself... she is my baby and I need someone else to do it for me. My friend has a CO2 chamber at her work. I might use that.

My Catdance babies hatched over 3 days! The last one hatched day 22! I had 18 go into lockdown, and 18 hatched....you will LOVE them! Good luck!

Oh I am so sorry I had to have my husband put down one of my girls after a hawk attack. It is really terrible to see them suffer. I hear the CO2 chamber is very humane though. Hoping for better days ahead.

I am so very sorry! I sure know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. You and Nori are in my thoughts and prayers!

I hate that helpless feeling, when you know what you have to do it but it is so terribly hard to bring yourself to it. Sending lots of comforting thoughts your way

CO2 chambers are very humane and painless. I use one for my feeder mice for my snake, I don't even like to see them suffer, they just go to sleep.

Lost another chick, this time to what we think was a fox. Pulled it right through the fence.

For some reason the babies were sleeping outside in the run next to the fence instead of inside the dogloo last night. I only have 2 left now. They're looking very nice, I just wish I had the others still with them. Letting my Anatolian sleep by the silkie pen tonight. I DARE the fox to touch my original girls.

Sorry rocker hen sometimes if a habitat has mites they won't go in, double check at night they look like tiny brown or black bugs.
