Up here in NH it got to the high 90's last summer and it does affect them if they do not have a place for shade and to drink cold water. Some people set up a misting system for them to cool down and take a mud bath. Sand is a great bedding selection for summer months because if it's in the shade it stays cool so they can lay down and cool off. But it has to be construction or river sand, with different sizes of granules. Also try to get sand with out silica.
We live in Tempe by ASU.. Our partridge roo kent & buff Karen did fine last year... We just hatched some of their babies.
I had silkies in Tuscon and moved them to Oklahoma. They lived for years. Just fine.
Thank you guys so much! I have been worrying about that since it is beginning to warm up quite a bit here and it gets so hot. I was thinking about figuring out how to put up a misting system
