Silkie thread!

Does ACV help with pasty butt in chicks? Is it ok to give them in the water this young (4 days old)?
Yes, you can give ACV in their water. Start with a very small ammount so they don't get overwelmed and refuse to drink it though. Also be sure they have plenty of ventalation and can get away from the heat as they need to as that can also cause pasty butt. If they are on shavings they sometimes eat them and that can also cause it. Hope they get over it soon!

And Hope - the frizzled silkie - unbearded. She always looks so grumpy

Hope- the new grumpy cat! Hope is grumpy chicken and needs some sarcastic captions lol.

I was thinking would a fan sitting behind a block of ice be like chicken air conditioning?? Lol. If the weather gets hot enough I'm going to do it, I'll take pics haha.
HAHA yesssss! I would love to see that! I need to come up with some kind of plan! Dang Oklahoma!

Hey everyone I was just posting here because no one seems to be interested. My only white silkie and hen was killed the other day . Don't know how but I found her in the yard. I'm so upset and anyway I have 6 standard chickens I would love to trade for a hen. Doesn't have to be show quality. Whoever is interested would get 2 buff Orpington hens one too and two barred Plymouth Rock Roos and one hen. I just want one white hen silkie. Can anyone help me out?

How are her feet doing?

Whoohoo! My friend just ordered 36 showgirl eggs! So she said I can have a chick if they hatch this time! The last hatch was a bust =( something was wrong with the eggs. So by the time I would be able to take it, I should hopefully have my house if everything goes as planned!
Oh, those showgirls are so funky looking.

You'll have a flock of all different sorts. That's great.

Watching over her best buds.. She calls her friends to food she finds. Is that not strange? I have never witnessed that behaviour in anything other than a broody hen or a rooster. Whatever. She is a she - I'm sure of it.
She's looking good! That's a great picture.

They are happier if they have a buddy you should get two. What were the symptoms of your Silkie? Did she act funny, any wounds, lice/mites, worms? Sorry for your loss.
