I was going to get the eggs directly from her too, so maybe I'll just bite the bullet and buy pullets from her instead!Gah, tell me about it. I bought the hovabator 1588 with my tax return. Thinking yes this is what I need for the best hatches since I'm going to be paying a good ammount for these special eggs. So disappointing.
I was thinking would a fan sitting behind a block of ice be like chicken air conditioning?? Lol. If the weather gets hot enough I'm going to do it, I'll take pics haha.
Looks like a girl all right! Love that first picture! I have a babysitter pullet who takes care of the chicks just like a mom and roo would. Shes only 4 mos and been doing it for several weeks now.Wow.. you guys are so busy here...
My Doc Holiday who I was certain was a boy until about 12 weeks than she had me guessing for a few weeks after that.. Definitely a girl though @ 19 weeks!
Watching over her best buds.. She calls her friends to food she finds. Is that not strange? I have never witnessed that behaviour in anything other than a broody hen or a rooster. Whatever. She is a she - I'm sure of it.
Mug shot
And Hope - the frizzled silkie - unbearded. She always looks so grumpy![]()
So cute! Silkies are awesome!!My pullet (she's the one that has a brain issue) hatched her 4 turkey babies perfectly and is now being such a good new mother, feeding her chicks and being protective of them, even though they're not even her speciesthat's what I love about these birds, they're so accepting of any babies, even if they're not their own. The babies are soooo cute. The two brownish ones were quite a surprise, so far I've only hatched white chicks from my pair (hen is a royal palm, tom is a red bronze, created by a royal palm/bourbon red cross). I love their tiny fuzzy snoods![]()
