I feel I was real lucky at the auction. The Silkies went from about $40 per pair up to $180. I didn't spend $180. I don't know how much they would have gone for directly from the breeders. I will tell you though..... when it was time to bid on Karen's blues, my card went up in the air and it didn't go back down until the auctioneer said "sold". I think they are going to be awesome and I hope to be back up at the show in October with one or both of them. The porcelains too. I'm hoping for some really nice babies from the white pair. I'll post pics soon of the whites.

Your new babies are beautiful...I have one blue from the cat dance hatch and it is so friendly and beautiful...will be hatching out a bunch of Easter silkies in blue, splash, white, and black.....we are getting so many I think I may have to put some up for sale.....have one more big hatch and then just playing with the lavender pen to breed up stock and of course any whites or blacks....love these birds they are so friendly

What do you mean by juvenile? Old enough to sex or newly hatched?

You might have missed your opportunity for shipping with the temps steadily climbing.

she looks blue to me

aubreynoramarie I would contact bobbi porto she has some nice reasonably priced birds

Thanks I thought so!

Hey do you mind if I contact you about my cuckoo chicks?

thanks for the suggestion

by juvenile i mean old enough to ship. i know there are certain risks involved with shipping chicks after they are a few days old, so juvenile would relate to the age which they are safe to ship again. im not sure what that age is, but im certain it is above three months?

You are so funny! I love your posts. I hope you start getting better luck with your eggs. Go to the Nationals if you can.... and bring a big wallet! So much temptation! Chicken people are the best too.
