So "snowball" crowed, and is now living with me

. But has anyone ever seen a hen try to be dominant over a roo? Ice is standing over him and even jumped on him and pulled some feathers out! Is Ice really a girl? She kind of looks manly, but she has NO comb whatsoever or streamers. It is completely flat and smooth, with two miniscuel little horns on top. She's about 8 months old I think, the roo is a lot bigger than her and only 4 months old. Is she just a Bi**h? lol
Lol, she probably wants to rule the roost while she can. Do u have a pic of Snowball?

She is probably confused with all these "strangers" coming to live with her! I have hens that have taken FOREVER for roos to be able to breed them or even accept the roo. They ran screaming at first.

Lilley and Cricket sitting on eggs side by side, don't think any will hatch I don't think the rooster is getting the job done.

Some hens (especially dominate hens) just don't seem to like roos and take quite a while to ever let a roo breed them. I have an EE hen that stands her ground and fights her little heart out against the absolutely HUGE marans roo I have if he attempts to mate her. Even if he manages to sneak up on her and manages to mate her, when he gets off she'll chase him around for a while lol. This is the same roo who is only 8 months, but managed to kick my 2 year old wyandotte rooster's butt and take over the flock. But he gets bested by one little hen haha.
that's exactly what one of Orps. hen does with my EE. if he mates her she will come up chasing him around, or if he is standing there while another roo is mating her she will still come up chasing him around anyways.
