Silkie thread!

I did a search and couldnt seem to find a silkie thread so i thought i would start one... I am getting a pretty good show quality silkie on friday.

Here is one of my old silkie hens. (i believe she was either partridge or silver...) R.I.P.

Hopefully i will have better luck with my new white silkie. I am hoping  she really is good quality because i plan on showing her..

Hey there, I have one named Sally exactly the same. She too is a beautiful girl and a wonderful mum. Will try to post som pics. Have two white girls, one buff, a black with the most beautiful silver flecked neck. Have had two beautiful silkie roosters pass away in the past six months. The first met a very unusual demise when a huge eagle swooped down and literally flew away with him!!! The second was bashed my pekin rooster who I would love to give the chop but am too big a sook to do it!!! The poor silkie boys are soooo timid and gentle compared to other roosters and don't stand a chance. I free range all my feathered ones every afternoon and the pekin go him on the run. Couldn't believe it.

It could turn any color but the 2 that I had that hatched like this turned out as colombian. I'm sure some of the others will chime in with more information.

Yes! I actually used 3 and one pirate boat playhouse and two dressers I'll update my coop pic soon!

Great idea, just curious how did you get the hardware cloth on the windows? Screws?

Oo, I like Animal! Very handsome! I have a chick right now that looks somewhat similar. It has a blue-tinted hind end and the yellow/white neck and head. He has little black chipmonk stripes. Wonder what he will turn in to?! I should post a picture of what I have in the brooder right now. I have a red chipmonk, a lighter one and many dark buff looking things. Excited to see what they feather into!
