Silkie thread!

Our White Silkie has a bit of an attitude problem and but she actually went outside with the other girls this time, and actually had fun in the grass. And I couldn't believe it the white amber links who are 3 months old were using to their bird song to try and get stink face back even though she has an attitude.

She is cute, is that a kids play house made into a coop?

I have a silkie rooster who is a bit shy, but is gaining confidence being around me. He really is pretty sweet thus far, still growing, and getting comfortable around me where as my other birds all hop into my lap or sit on my feet when I visit. A few days ago I scooped him up and plopped him into my lap. He just sort of sat there, a bit perplexed and dismayed, until I began searching him over for creepy crawlies and doing the usual. He didn't mind a bit, and then I decided, since it was going so well, to start working on his little poofy head. He still has pin tubes coming in on his crest and he ended up falling asleep while I groomed! Lol!

I have another silkie who also has a TON of pin tube things on the shafts of his crest feathers coming in. Is it okay to preen them out for them? I generally break them down with a fingernail and then very gently work them out. Seems to be a bonding thing for my flock and I. :p Just don't want this to break feathers or anything, so I hope it's okay!
