Silkie thread!

I love my roosters. I'm hoping to get a blue one out of the chicks that just hatched so I can work on BBS.

I only got one splash chick. I'm keeping all my fingers, toes and other body parts crossed for a hen!

If I had your splash boy, I wouldn't give him up for the world! He's stunning!

I don't personally have anything against roos, but we're in city limits, and they're considered livestock, so we can't have them. And our HOA wont let us have them... but at least I can have girlies!

Thanks for that info. I am only new to this silkie mania and Meg is one of my faves. Porcelain sounds much more romantic!!! Lol. I adore these little guys!!
It's technically not "true" porcelain, too much buff. I had a hard time figuring out what my hen was lol! I had to ask some high end silkie people before I settle on it. If you were to show you could still show her as self-blue cream, nori my hen even won BV. She could be used to breed more correct porcelains though. They all look to be excellent quality

I'm taking 3 Silkies this time instead of one. Splash cockerel, black pullet and my partridge pullet. I'm really not so sure about the partridge, I don't think she looks great but I figured what the heck. I already sent in entries and paid for everything, might as we..

There will be pictures tomorrow!

Good luck!! Hope your day is great, looking at a bunch of cute fluffballs..

My "Special Needs" Porcelain boy, Buck, finally got confidence to start crowing today at almost 7mo. I got him from Karen almost 2 months ago. Also another young cockerel, 4mo from another line started crowing too. So now I have 3 crowing Silkies

You know, I have no idea! I need to get them all outside so I can take good pics of them without flash. Every time I try to take individual pics, I forget who I've done already, since a few of them are pretty similar!

Here's another shot that shows her back more, bottom right, still.

Some of these babies have an interesting masking thing going on, pretty!
The light one does look lavender (self-blue)

I'd like to share pics of a couple of my new chicks.

Really cute photos!!

I have about a dozen cockerels that are just starting to crow and can't ship again until fall. It's going to be a long summer.
