Okay so I missed sharing a few pictures. Doc & Hope.

Here is Doc again. She looks so conditioned compared to the blue girl I have just purchased almost two weeks ago.


Comb is still really small

Nora.. Oh gosh is she cute.. Hiding behind her BFF body guard. Nora is an Ameraucana bantam, and is the tiniest chicken EVER. Well not really.. but the tiniest I have ever seen.


Hope and her crazy hair style - she is a frizzled silkie. Non-bearded.

they are very pretty justine .. my blue hen i got has only laid 5 eggs so far

Yes sometimes. My silkies have multiple times, as well as a cochin - but I don't always count on this. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does.

thanks! I'm trying to figure out what to do, since only 1 of the 4 chicks that were due to hatch actually hatched. Not sure what happened. they were growing fine But, there are more ready to hatch later on this week.

When can I put my week old chicks in with my month old chicks? I've put a chick here and there with the big girls, and they've been fine. The big girls were a bit wary, but got used to the chick fairly quickly. The chicks even tried to cuddle up to them! The big girls didn't seem to sure about it, but didn't seem to mind.

RIP "Chad" She was a hen, but was named "Chad" when she was a chick and bigger than the others. My fault. They all got out of the 'day pen', and the hens went under the chicken house. I wasn't able to get them at all (3 hens). Apparently, some predator was able to get her
