Silkie thread!

Silly question, but how exactly do you bath a chicken? I have 2 silkies and one of them has a big dingle berry hanging from her butt. LOL it's not attractive but doesn't look very comfortable either. Thought about just cutting it out but the girls could probably use a good bath. Here they are with my newest addition, the freebie chick that was given to me. :)

Thanks!! I do love them already!! They are very calm! Ill might just have to convince the BF to build another Coop for just Silkies!!!

I haven't settled on a name for this girl yet, but she is my favorite of my four silkie chicks. She is so dainty. She is also terribly skittish. All of my other chicks jump on my shoulder, my lap, eat out of my hand, and come to see me whenever I'm in their room. I'm not sure what to do. Is she going to be like this forever? Is constantly afraid a personality type? I really want to cuddle her.
She is very young. Most settle down at 3 or 4 months with lots of handling.

If the dingle berry is only attached two or three feathers, just pull it off.

When I come with food my silkies start chest bumping each other like brutish men at a football game lol. Is this a silkie thing? It is hilarious!!

Love it that's so cute!

I am in desperate need for help! I have an approx. 22 week old Silkie and all of a sudden he is acting very odd. I noticed that he was just sitting away from everyone else and his head was kinda bobbing from side to side as they do when you're holding them walking. I've read and read trying to figure out what it could be! I don't know if it is Merek's, water on the brain or a vitamin deficiency!? I had them on Corid for approx week due to others having cocci. Out of the 20 I only lost 1 to the cocci. I was hoping that it is that simple assuming that the Corid caused the deficiency and he will recover. I had to hand feed the water with poly in it to ensure he got some of the vitamin water and he did immediately show some improvement. I notice that the head bobbing does increase with stress. I've found him wandering the property 2ce now in a couple of days time so I now have brought him in the house in a large cage. I can't tell if he's loosing his sight or what the issue is there. He will eat and drink when I direct his head towards the food and water. Most of his time is spent sitting. He doesn't appear to have any paralysis in either leg or wing. I'm at such a loss and he's always been such an active upright standing boy. I would hate to loose him. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First things firsts make sure you quarantine him and try poly si Vol vitamins.

This may be some stupid questions that might have been answered, but I couldn't find any tips so thought I would ask.
First, do Silkie roos crow like a normal roo or is it a different sound.
Second, does anyone have tips on sexing Silkies? I know that they are hard to sex. These are not young chicks but at least year old chickens.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Golden

They look like they could be silkie crossed.
Peepblessed! You have given me hope. I will continue to try. Thank you so much

I always notice them getting a lot calmer when they start laying too.

Some are a little higher pitched than a large roo but they are often just a loud. A year old silkie should be laying or crowing. Males have a much larger comb. Posting photos will help you the most.
