Silkie thread!

from a family in Loudon NH. i dont remember the name of the farm (or if they had one), they had a ton of chickens. they were relocating to a bigger location. said they arent show quality though, which i dont really mind, im not showing them. i really just have them around for a good laugh everyday =P NPIP certified flock and MG and MS free

like i said, i dont *really* care if they are purebred, but would be nice!

I was about to say. I wouldn't show them.

Thank you! She is all poof. The other girls look like her but weren't feeling the posing.
BTW I am also in New Hampshire =) Not far from Loudon either! I should have some hatching eggs/chicks for sale soon too

that would figure!! i know where Bow is. Im in Newport. what would your prices be?
Not sure yet haha! Probably $1 per egg for the mixed( I have Silver Laced Polish and Splash Ameraucana roo's over a silver/blue frizzle, BCM/olive egger, and an Easter Egger; Also a White silkie roo over a Partridge sizzle and a gold laced bantam cochin.) The pure silkie eggs would start at $2 per egg and may go up depending on the quality of the chicks. These would be my White roo over a light blue hen. Here are some pictures of the silkie parents, you can PM me if you want pics of the other chickens that would be in the "mixed" flock

I may be interested in your hatching eggs from the pure silkies. I love that white one =P i want to experiment with hatching eggs anyways. Its one reason i got silkies, for brooding. I have 6 easter egger pullets and 4 roos. I had 3 pure silver laced wyandottes (2 pullets, 1 roo) but i lost the roo and a pullet to what i assume was coccidiosis but i think i have it under control now. Wondering if i should look for full grown ones to replace the ones i lost or go with a hatchery for day old chicks and raise them myself... don't know of anyone with SLW right now though :(

http://nh.craigslist.org/grd/3925382799.html just found this

yeah ive searched craigslist in NH and VT but there are none very close. i wish i could get the roo in your link but derry is quite the drive. loudon was too, but i couldnt find any silkies closer than that. i may just go with hatchery chicks, then i can order a few extra and still pay less than if i got older birds. i raised my moms day old comets and NHRs from day old to about 2 weeks. it will give me some practice for when i start hatching my own chicks.

thanks for the help though! just wish they were closer, but ill have to keep an eye out. i think i found my last ones out of the weekly flee. the people i got them from may still have some, i think i still have their card somewhere...
