Silkie thread!

I'm going to order a bottle of it just to see if it helps. I bought a bottle of the Equate brand of the gas drops and tried them yesterday. Not sure if that made the difference with her sleeping all the time or not. The more expensive Mylicon ones didn't do a thing. She's also on the Similac Advance formula. Maybe switching over to the fussiness/gas forumula might help too.

Cheap yet good IMO walmart brand sensitive. We were stuck using Alimentumn for the longest time $25 for the small can, no thanks! Closer to a year we got the go ahead to switch to sensitive and literally did a happy dance in Walmart over the price tag haha! I've heard that target brand isn't bad either thought I can't say the same for their diapers...

Have you asked the doctor if she might be having reflux? If so, there are medications which can help and will reduce the burning she would be feeling which could lead to the fussiness, the colics, etc. Sonoran, my parents used to do the leg thing with me too, even when I was a toddler.
Seriously, though, ask about reflux...

I go into the doctor tomorrow morning. I am going to be flooding her with questions.

It might also be allergies, which I personally have alot of too. I noticed that even switching laundry detergents one time had her all covered in little red bumps. My mom made her this really cute crocheted wool sweater too and that had the same reaction. Maybe an allergic reaction to something else..... All I can think of is that I normally do barn chores about 5-6 pm lately. I take my coat off and wash up but don't always get a shower in before getting her the next bottle. Maybe some sort of dander causes that fussy time too.

I hope you have a good pedi that is patient and kind to you like you guys deserve

It's mind boggling all the scenarios you can come up with when you're talking about a brand new baby and what ails them. I buy Charlie's Soap in bulk. I use it for everything from cloth diapers to army uniforms good stuff. Baby items get a double rinse. I have sensitive skin and so does my kiddo so if he breaks out in a rash I know at least it's not the laundry soap

She's the first and the last.... I'm 34 years old and never planned on kids in the first place. Haha your little boy is adorable! I have a pic of me at that age with my face covered in oreo cookies.

Thank you!

He's sure is a monster with the mess but the dogs love it lol Let me warn you, never ever would I recommend a high chair like the one in the picture. Thing can't be just wiped down oh no too easy! It has to be stripped and washed in the washing machine 2-3 times a week. Soo not cool!
I'm currently deep in thought over just having one. I see many positives! Still can't decide though. I'm almost 30 not that I consider 30 old by any means I kinda just want to focus on having a career as well as a family at some point. I've been a stay a home mom this whole time and mercy me I'm not cut out for this! I'm blessed to be home with him but when you sometimes end up spending a whole day only talking to a toddler and singing along with some sort of kids song on TV or humming a tune from a push toy ohhhh woeeee

OMG, I remember that....thought I would lose my mind...esp w/ number 2, I had just started riding again, lol. But so glad I have 2 now, both teenagers, drive me crazy, but they are close (when theyre not fighting) and they will always have each other. When one is away, its so much easier though!!!! The sibling rivalry is the hardest part....To each her own, not for everyone. Your guy is a cutie, as well as Destiny's!

Can you block the sprinklers from hitting the run? If you're wetting it daily of course there will be mud and bacteria growth and odor.

Dry is good. Block those sprinklers! Take advantage of one of the few benefits of living in the desert, the power of DRY!

That's a very good thought I might hang some wooden blinds or something to help with the sunlight as well as any splatter the runs are getting.

Shade cloth is a good choice, too, and usually less expensive. However, I DO have rollup shades on a couple of hte coops--because they cost next to nothing on sale. The bamboo things you roll out to lay on for a suntan are good at providing shade plus ventilation and a bit of water protection, too.

I don't think my butt even dreamed of shrinking at 6 months PP let alone 6 weeks PP! I scoffed when people reminded me I had just had a baby but now I'm the one doing the reminding. lol You just had a baby!

Another thought (like you need anymore from the peanut gallery aka me haha) instead of the reflux angle or what not. Since you mentioned it's like she's tired but doesn't want to miss anything sort of behavior during "fussy time". I remember later on after the reflux drama running into this and found that if I could plot the time around about when I thought crankiness was about to set in and laid Finn down for a nap a half hour earlier sort of anticipating his need for sleep he'd be much less likely to do the whole sleep, crying, don't you dare let me miss a moment thing

I read it somewhere can't remember where though.

Ohh and holy zoo!

My older son was a kid I could tote anywhere and if he was hungry he ate, and if sleepy he slept. Younger son was very different. If we were out, he would not eat or sleep--seemed like he was afraid he would miss something. I found that going into a dim, quiet room to nurse was a huge help. And I had to lay down beside him to get him to sleep. Once he was sound asleep I could usually oh so gently slide off the bed without waking him--at least a lot of the time.

I had no problem dropping baby weight (and boy did I have a lot of excess) once they were born. I'm sure nursing played a big role, but being selective on the genes I chose to inherit probably played a big part, too

Every woman is different, and every baby is different. For all the advice you receive, take what works for you, and don't worry about rejecting ideas that don't work for your family.

I thought about nursing more than once... Then reality made me think twice. I work at a very large casino about 30 miles from home. If its busy, you are on the floor til business dies down. You don't get long breaks just to go pump. On weekends your shifts rarely get over at your scheduled time. If I were a stay at home mom it would be different. Maybe one of those soy based formulas...

I already use the Tide scent free. I am very sensitive to alot of perfumes. I can't walk into Bath & Body without wheezing. Getting rid of the softener sheets. I also have some of that ColicCalm on the way.

We used to have an ICE CREAM STORE I couldn;t go into without having an asthma attack. Usually Bath and Body dosn't bother me, but sometimes...I am technically not allergic to anything, but I react to EVERYTHING in the air: heavy pollen (of any sort), ozone, particulates (especially them!) When citrus is blooming, I can't go places that have a lot of trees. It's really sad as I love the odor--but it doesn't like me.

Pumping goes pretty fast once you get the hang if it, if you have a good machine (which is the real clue for pumping). You could compare a good breast pump to a stunning show quality silkie (one that would easily win over 100 or more great silkies) versus a poor breast pump as being a very poor quality hatchery bird.

For the laundry, maybe add an extra rinse with white vinegar?

I just went a met a guy who sell's silkie chicks and eggs only on pick up. He shows and has some beautiful birds nothing there but SQ birds. He sold me 17 eggs we collected fresh from his coop for $5 YAY!!!!

Congrats! That's awesome!

I have 4 new chicks this morning and looks like several more will hatch today. Ended up with 23 that made it to lockdown. This is my first attempt at hatching Silkie eggs. 3 other bators have 8 dozen more due to hatch next Thursday. I'm excited with the success so far and will post pics, most likely tomorrow. So far there is a white, 2 buffs and 1 that was marked "generic".
