There have been alot of people looking for buffs -- I would take somemore pics - Shipping is usally around $65. includeing new box -- I would go look and compare him to other silkie Roos of as good quality to help you find a starting price - There are a few on the auctions now ~~ Just my thoughts ~~ Tammy

Can I ask all of you what do you think of him ?? He has all his toes - nice spaceing - Awsome feathering on his feet -- Well really everywhere - Nice cushion - He has nice type - just seems to be a really beefy ( chesty ) silkie - do you think his crest is ok ? He really needs a good molt . I know he isn't dark chested Sonoran I have a dark chested but he lacks in areas that i thought this guy exceled in - What do you think about him and the hen I posted a couple of days ago -- together. Does he have enough color ? I'm going to put him in the spring show also then I thought maybe try breeding them and see how their chicks look . Funny I never really thought about how hard it is to try and get the partridge color right . It seems it would be simple but it isn't at all and they are very attractive little birds

From what I can tell he looks like a nice boy. I think his crest is a good size I prefer a bigger rounder crest more like a hen but his is not bad by any means

Whatever you feel like he is lacking in make sure you pair him with a girlie that isn't lacking in the same area (you probably already realize this lol) or else you'll likely just get more of the same. Of the chicks keep the ones that have the improvements you're looking for that the parents didn't have quite right. How's the color of this little man's comb? I don't remember the hen you posted sorry lol If you like the coloring of the other guy better with the dark chest maybe keep him and either cross him with a nice typey girl or later on cross him with the offspring from this pair you're thinking of. I've heard many times type before color and I'd have to agree (not talking about mixing color groups just to be clear)

I finally thinned out my whites for my breeding pen and I let two cockerels and three pullets go home with my babysitter/housekeeper. She said I looked like I was giving away my children

I know she'll give them a lovely home though and she was just in awe of how pretty they were. She is planning to keep them as pets and eye candy so they were perfect for her. Not that she cared but just in case I pointed out to her the reasons I was letting them go versus the ones I was keeping so she would realize if she ever wanted to breed the best of them what to look for. One of the cockerels was really a stunning sweet boy. We bartered 6 hours of her scrubbing my house for the birds. Love it! My house is sparkling!
Wish I could keep them all, really do but oh well I bought them all as groups knowing that all of them weren't going to get to stay with me so now I'm patting myself on the back

The girl seems pretty light. The guy seems nice, needs a black chest. Did you see the hen Reesepoultry had up for auction? I don't know if she is still up but I thought she was typey.

I know it! I'm trying to keep my head on straight and realize that to do what I want with breeding and to have some nice birds to show that I can say were bred and raised by me one day, I need to let some go that don't measure up. I'm like a little kid though and I want them ALL!! haha! Now for whites I have a knockout roo over two knock out girls and two more pullets that have good potential to be at least great BQ

Can't wait until they starting laying more consistently!

I just saw them so they are still up, one of them isn't bad looking. I think they end tomorrow. Good suggestion
