Silkie thread!

Finally I can post on the Silkie thread because I have my first Silkies! I have eggs from Catdance Silkies hatching. So far I have 2 porcelain, 2 white, 1 blue and 1 lavender. 7 more eggs to go. Tomorrow is day 21 so I am hoping the rest of the eggs pip tonight and hatch tomorrow.

Here are a couple of pictures of the first 3 to hatch. The 2 porcelain and 1 white. The other white, blue and lavender are still in the incubator. Pictures of those tomorrow

I know the little one is the back is blue, but I'm not sure if Chance is black or dark blue. He looks black in person. Were your's SQ or Pet?

The parents are PQ, so I imagine the chicks are also. A previous chick ended up being a tortise shell Silky. Not SQ! but he sure was pretty!
The father was a Partridge, 3 hens contributed eggs. A White silky, White Showgirl & a Black Silky.

They are my own girls eggs. I have 4 white hens, a blue hen, and my roo is blue.

You had her tested and it came back negative?

Do you know what IS wrong? I think she was getting better, so your treatment is working - but is there anything else recommended?

Is the Buff broody the mother of the egg?  With that boy and the Buff you will get Smutty Buff or possibly an oddball color.  You may get a gold "Partridge" or a silver "Partridge".  I think the Gold will be male or the Silver will be female.

Hooray - I am very glad for that.  I didn't know how to help, I am glad somebody else did.  Is that Chance there?

So very CUTE!

That one has ATTITUDE! The one standing up is very frisky and the smartest one and is showing the others how to eat. I like the color on the dark porcelain chick the best. The lavender chick had to be helped out. It was upside down. It has one very curled foot. Hoping it will straighten out. I have 3 more of the remaining eggs pipped. All porcelains. Sure hope the paint and buff egg hatch!! Besides porcelain, buff is another one of my favorite colors.
