Silkie thread!

Could you clip some fake yellow feathers on her?

Oh and PS.... I told my Mama I would like the Brinsea Eco Glow brooder for Christmas so we have to figure out how you can ship me somw eggs without them freezing. ;-)
Haha yeah we'll figure out something!

could someone please tell me what they think? Anything near SQ?
Love the hen =) she looks nice for a non-bearded.

SO the finally decision for halloween costumes for my silkies? Drumroll please!.......

On a less cheerful note... I can't find Jack Frost anywhere =( I hope he turns up.

Haha cute!

I had 9 baby's hatch form my blue hen and splash rooster, three of them look blue and six are off white or a very light gray white. would the white looking one's be splash?

If there are no other hidden genetics (like lavender hiding in there) then yes, they would be splash. You sure got a large percentage of Splash - the odds are 50/50.

Quote: Fun colors. What did the showgirl end up looking like?

I hope Jack Frost shows up.. but not on my doorstep. Its cold enough in the morning as it is, and its only in the 40s...

I'll probably still dress her up soon though just because it's funny! Thanks I hope so too. It's so strange I had a premonition while doing these two that Rodney my bantam barred rock drove him off(I had just let him out with the rest of the flock for the first time) and then when I went outside later to lock up he was nowhere to be found...

This is my first time breeding my blue and splash together , I was surprised that I only got three blue chicks and so many hopefully splash. how soon can you tell if there going to be splash?

I don't know - I have never had splash chicks of any breed. I think somebody mentioned they saw splashes in the feathers later on - perhaps after the first molt? Or was it in the chick feathers - I don't recall. I know Paint starts out with black "spots" as chicks, splashes start out grey/white.

I should go check. It was bed time when I went out, everyone else was in the coop but him. And it's rainging and has been getting below freezing at night =( If he's still outside and alive i'm worried he might freeze..

nope I don't see him =(
