Silkie thread!

Sorry if this has been talked about- I couldn't find the answer. If I breed a red rooster to a buff hen, will I get some red chicks. I'm hoping when I go to a show in Dec, I'll have some Christmas money early, and can pic up about 3 chicks. If they all turn out to be boys, I have a buff hen.

Thanks!
ps- here is the color of buff that I have...

He named the little Polish pullet that is my avatar Walter. Walter!!!! She should have been named Dahlia, Dahlia is a PERFECT name for her, but noooooo, she is Walter, even to me.

Awwww. He's cute! We have a ton of chickens but not all are named. Have a three year old daughter so lots of Disney and cartoon names. Silkie roos are Shrek and Eggbert. And one sex link hen is Mr Magoo. And we have a smooth sizzle roo named Keanu Reeves because he's so fluffy he can't see and is kind of confused and aloof all the time. Lol. :/ Funny little creatures.

Got some hay in the pen finally!!! The game bantams, silkies, Cochin bantams, quail, & the goose are all hayed down. I've another bale coming in sometime this week to give to the laying hens and rooster.

Hope everyone's chickies stay warm tonight. I hope my silkies figure out how to use their dog dish heated water bowl. I put in in the coop and plugged it in and they avoided it like I put an alien in the coop until I put scratch around it. Silkies are not brave.

I have never met a brave chicken. Most of them are, well, CHICKEN!

I have a few now that are more curious and not quite as afraid of everything new - but that is only a very few of them.
