Hey- I just saw this- lol.  They both turned out to be girls, and the mother of 12 that live here now

I haven't seen Peepsblessed on here for a very long time, hope she's ok.

I had Sheldon Chicken Cooper.  The reason being:  I had to treat Sheldon with Selenium for wry neck
Sheldon's (Big Bang Theory) favorite mineral (?) is Selenium.  Sheldon's on "Big Bang Theory)
 last name is "Cooper".   Therefore, his name was Sheldon Chicken Cooper" Whew!

is there anyone who hatched eggs under silkie? i put 4 eggs under silkie but after 4 to 6 hours...she left her eggs and walking around though i heard silkie is one of the best mother...i put her nest under the cage where 2 silkie males and one silkie female living excpet her...in first hour, noone disturbig her and if anyother hen was going near to her, she was showing her aggression even when i try to go near to her she was trying to bite me
pls help abt it...can i hatch some eggs under a silkie or not?

Yes, you can hatch eggs under a silkie. That's how I have hatched all of mine. You have to wait on her, she will decide when she wants to brood - you can only leave her eggs/ put some there and hope it takes. My hens are usually a bit noncommittal the first two days but then sits right down and rarely ever gets off the eggs.

Hello there,  All American Silkies are Bantams.  We don't have Large Fowl Silkies in the States.

There is a lady in Lincoln that has Silkies.  I don't know what she has available right now, but her birds are beautiful.  She is http://www.californiacountryranch.com/

If you are asking about other kinds of Bantams then I don't know the answer.

Yes! She has beautiful birds. Bought a bunch this summer. She has a waiting list for eggs...don't know about actual birds. When we went she had sizzles, smooth sizzles, frizzles, Cochins...can't wait to order eggs to put under a broody this year. ....can you tell I love the birds I got?? Lol
