Silkie thread!

I kind of have a serious problem with my day old silkie chick. She looks left, then right, then left and right and this goes on and on. And she will walk in circles. She is just adorable and would hate to lose her. When she hatched, her bottom was protruding a bit so I left her in the bator, and it seemed to go down a little but I'm noticing these ticks she has. Any suggestions on what to do? I haven't dealt with one like this before and appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Could be a vitamin deficiency so the first thing I would try is Polyvisol baby vitamins (without iron) and see if it improves. I had a d'Anver chick hatch and she kept looking up at me as I looked into the incubator. I thought how cute it was that she was watching for me, but then she started looking up and her head twisting back until she was falling backwards and couldn't get up. I realized she was a "star gazer" which is a Thiamine deficiency so I started giving her Polyvisol vitamins, B12 liquid vitamins and had to hand feed her and keep her in a cup because she couldn't stay on her feet. On the third day she jumped out of the cup, joined the other chicks and in 2 more days was normal

They are people baby vitamins so you can get them in the baby isle at the grocery or drug store. Just a couple of little drops in the mouth twice daily

Mine made it alright. That was over a year ago. Her name is "Star" because she was a star gazer and she is the porcelain d'Anver hen in my avatar.
