I have looked into catdance for ordering show quality silkies......she is an excellent breeder! do you love her birds? do you recommend be buying show hatching eggs? I may do that for easter! her webkink in saved to mu computer.

6 month old Splash Silky. I'd thought the darkest one to be a roo, but the comb hasn't changed color yet.

Silkie roosters should never change comb colour--they should remain the black/mulberry colour that they have at hatching.

We were recently given two Silkies and told they were both hens. I believe the bigger one is, but not so sure about the smaller one. Can anyone help me out and also give an approximate age? I'm very new to chickens in general, so any silkie tips/knowledge you may have would be great!

Ha! Wouldn't that be funny! Do you have a guess at how old they may be by looks? The younger one follows the bigger one like his life depends on it and if I take the little one out, the bigger one runs over to me and watches me like a hawk. I guess I took it as mothering behaviors. Would males act so...clingy to each other?

hmmm....they both liike like roosters to me......maybe about 5 months old or so? its just a guess.....but it does seem like you have 2 roos.....do they stand tall or stand low to the ground? are their combs flast and about the size of a dime?

Yes, her BYC name is Kelar. I would try sending her a PM through BYC and ask if she has eggs available. I bought eggs from her when she advertised on the BYC, hatching eggs for sale thread. I have not seen her offer eggs lately though.
