Silkie thread!

My spunky little guy being cute..

..and crowing his little heart out. He knows his manly duties, for sure, already crowing, mating, and being a gentlemen to the ladies.

And my crazy fluff balls getting a drink. They had it knocked over less than an hour before, but of course acted like they haven't had a drink in days. Little drama queens (and kings!)

gorgeous birds! may I ask where you got them from? im trying to find who has gotted from catdance. I want to see more of the grown birds of others

:old I think he will with such a nice home he has.;)

It's a little messy right now, but we ordered an outdoor carport we are putting up to put the chickens in for breeding. It's a 18X21 I think. The side rails are 6ft and center is 7 or 8ft tall. It'll stay nice and clean in there!! I can't wait for it! Once we get all that finished I'm going to see about getting NPIP certified.

awesome! that would be neat!

Gorgonzilla looks to be developing a cross beak. I don't think it'll be any big deal since I've read up on it and know what to do. We can always keep her in the indoor pen so she can get TLC if that's what she needs. We went through worse with Thunderhead.

Here's her sibling of the ever-changing name (currently Professor Jazz, or PJ for short) enjoying having his neck stroked by my eight-year-old. She wants him to grow up to be a big, fluffy rooster, but would be happy with a hen.

I got my original stock from Sparkle City Silkies, although I've supplemented with other birds since from other breeders (I can't remember their farm names at the moment) as well. The whites are my favorites for sure, although I certainly can drool over a dark 'pure' black. I personally have never been much for the patterned colors or blues, but I can certainly see how people love them! A silkie of any color is a lovely bird, but we all have our favorites

Catdance has some lovely birds, but her whites in particular are stunning. I've seen some of her cockerels on Poultry Bid, and OMG. Their crests and cushions put my boys to shame.

the last sentence is the sad truth! hahaha

I have a splash hen....she is the best....but I would die over a jet pure black silkie! I think I may get some of catdance's whites sooner or later this year for show.
here is my pitiful roo. he looked at your roos and he decided to lock himself in the coop and never come out. LOL
