Does the vaulted skulls effect both bearded and non-bearded?

Yes vaulted skull effects the puffball on the head, bearded means they have extra feathering on there cheeks.

If it's too warm it causes pastey butt? I could raise it a little higher I suppose. I just figured they have a big enough bucket that they could get away from it if needed.

I found another black chick about the same age as the one that died tonight on our local ksl ads and I was thinking about getting one. But would love to stick with the bearded silkies. All my other chicks are bearded but I cant quite tell in these pics if this one is. Can anyone tell me if it is? The adult silkie in the pic is the mother with her chicks. The chick is a week old.

Thanks sub, i think i'll decrease the heat now along with rubbing oil on their bums and see if that helps

Left for about an hour today, in the brooder the chicks kicked the water thing down, spilled everywhere, all there feetsies were wet and cold, I felt sooo bad. Then when I had to clean the thing out it smelled so bad that I gagged several times, at first I was mad at them, then I stared into there beautiful black eyes and forgot all about it.
