Silkie thread!

700

This is my little silkie chick Dot, she hatched 2weeks ago and has a vaulted skull. Her head has never fluffed up as she constantly rubbed it on the electric hen so her feathers flattened down. I fluffed it up so it wasn't obvious to the other chicks as I saw one peck at her. Whilst using a cotton bud I noticed that there was a light yellowy tinge on it, no blood. When I checked on her again she had flattened it straight back down and it was matted. I've been keeping an eye on her but have noticed it seems to be weeping, it's never wet but there's a constant matted patch. I have now separated her from the others but I don't know what to do with her, someone has said not to clean and fluff it up as I may be causing more harm than good. Can anyone please help?

Wow cool, I have a 2 week old silkie, her name is dot too!!! I also have one with a vaulted skull

I hope it does! Nothing worse than cleaning butts all day!

I've never had a serious issue with pasty butt. When I do, it's usually hard stools. My whites that are with their Mom have some pasty butt. I went to clean it off yesterday, and it just smashed into a huge blob of soft stool. Gonna put ACV in the water. I hope that helps.
