I made a theead on this, but maybe I could get more input on this thread.

Does anyone know what colors these three chicks could be when they are older? They are silkies.
I need to know so I can name them.

I would say they will all be white.

Ome of them are a little darker than the rest, a light brown. I just don't think the color came out in the picture.

I would say two white and a buff
The buffish one may be a champagne like white too. They are very pretty.
You'll be able to tell in a week or so by their wing feathers.

I am new to chickens and silkies.  I have a question, I have 3 hens that just now started laying, and I have a black showgirl rooster in with them, but he is almost 4 months old and crowing.  How old are silkie/showgirl roosters before they start breeding.  Sorry if this is a silly question.  Just curious.  Thanks

They are usually active around 6-9 months. You will usually see some ruffled feathers cause he can be a bit clumsy to begin with.

Here is a pic of Sassy. My hubby just went and got her for me today. She is a year old and I was told she hasn't layed eggs that is why they got rid of her. I am already in love with her she has so much personality!

Does anyone know if I could/should cut around her eyes or should I leave it?

I would say two white and a buff  

The buffish one may be a champagne like white too. They are very pretty.  

You'll be able to tell in a week or so by their wing feathers. 

 

Their wring feathers actually came out already! All three of them's wing feathers are white so I guess they will all be white. But I'm still hoping the darker one will be a champange because there is some white in that color variation
