OK, it is a FEMALE. It squatted for me when I went to pick it up. talk about a late bloomer! LOL now I have no roosters, darn it!


actually, I have a younger one that I don't know the gender of either, but I'm pretty sure that one is a female too. apparently I only hatch out females. hmmmmm.

Would that we all had such luck! However, boys who are intimidated can and will also squat.

have you checked the pelvic bone spacing?

Should I be concerned at all about a chick that has a huge vault? She's the one on the far right. Both pics

Those are my favorite kind :) She's beautiful! I tend to try to find these ones most, as I just love the way they look. Havent had a problem with them yet. Just make sure there isent anything to low or sharp that she could accidentally jump and bump her head into.
