Silkie thread!

I have some bad news. My Felicity has vanished. No sign of her anywhere. It was later than usual when I made sure everyone was locked up. No feathers or anything... poor girl
Aww so sorry to hear that

Lol, I get my silkies to hatch out my coronation sussex after a few failed attempts under the sussex.

haha I love it, my sussex does a good job for the most part, she isnt mean enough to keep the other girls out of her nestbox so we did lose a couple thanks to the other girls squishing them during hatch :/ this time around I gave her standard sized eggs

That is exactly what happened with mine. She would ' muscle down ' when the other hens came into the nest box and was squashing full term chicks. Here's one I saved.

He had to hang around in the egg cup till he absorbed the yolk.

Guys I think my 2 chicks are roosters by looking at them more closely... I'm so sad lol I only wanted one to be a rooster but it doesn't look like it.

Damon is beautiful black and Eric is pretty blue.

I noticed waddle developed. My older chick who I'm 100% sure is hen small comb and no waddle hasn't developed what they have.

Do you think both are roosters?

I don't know what to do. I'd keep them both but.....

I have :
Ichabod
Lydia blue
Karma/Derek blue
Amy/ stiles blue
Kira dark blue
Damon black
Eric blue

I'm thinking One of her chicks is male and other female. One is slightly bigger and it's comb is larger.

Which would give me 4 roos to 3 femalea.. which is a no no lol and one would be brothers to that roo. So now rehome ng that one
Would give me 3 to 3 which I don't like lol

Now I'm for sure keeping damon. I love black roosters. Eric I am not attached to but he is beautiful. I'd keep them all but that's 2 roosters with 2 or 3 hens. Ichabod there is no use for but I'm very attached. He was one of my first silkies.

What to do? Unless I get more hens. I can't find many in Ohio 45050. Unless I get from hatchery which scares me.lol

I searched for posts about it when it happened and saw this pic!!! That's so funny, I saved all but two by snatching them out and sticking them in the incubator
