Silkie thread!

I just bought 2 chicks a few weeks ago. I'm curious to see what they will look like as adults(or if they are male/female).

For now their names are Fifi(blue) and Angel(white)

There is no standard for the colors mentioned in the two posts. I'm not even certain a color like calico can be controlled enough to create a standard for them.

Those that are seriously breeding porcelains will need to keep accurate records, begin showing them and agree to what the standard should be for them. They are still a work in progress and have a ways to go before being accepted in to the standard for a new variety.

I have cuckoo silkies but no babies yet I had bought eggs from a ebayer who said they was cuckoo but both turned out a dark blue almost looked black. So their baby pics wouldn't be of much help What I can say is they will have a little yellow spot on their heads or yellow spots on the wings and leg feathering when hatched they could have pink toes or white skin. or mottled skin. both my cuckoos have mottled skin.

I love Silkies! The pics on this thread r beautiful. Am just starting I have about 20 silkies right now. I love this breed of chickens and they make great mommies!

There is no standard for calico; nor even complete agreement on what it is. The term was originally used for splash showing red as well as dark blue splashes. Somehow that got interpreted by some as greys showing red.
