Silkie thread!

I have a question, I am still waiting to find out which SIlkie's my friend is giving me and I dont have a pic of the rooster but I do have pic of the rooster that she used to make the chics and I am concerned he is not a true silkie.






Does this look like a SIlkie to you? The last pic is the middle

He looks maybe half silkie.

Last night I took my final walk around the pens making a head count and thought it funny the way one grow out pen settles down to sleep for the night. The broody hen hatched them in an old nest box (not meant for silkies) I removed her at four weeks old. They still try to pile into that same box. All thirteen of them! Hah! The day they hatched. That one little red one is a silkie cross from a little bantam RIR that snuck an egg in there when no one was looking. She doesn't want to pile in the nest like her half siblings. Thirteen eight week old silkie chicks. Still trying to pile into that nest every night. She flys up six feet above the ground into a plum tree.. She has five toes each foot and feathered feet. It's her wings that get her up there. She does it from her instincts. No one taught her to roost up high. I have silkies that try to roost and some will if the perch is thick enough but most end up just piling with the crowd.

So is there anyway I can breed whatever else is in them out of them? I know it sounds confusing

Hubby is a dairy farmer and he was telling me that with cows you can breed a cow that is Jersey x Freisan with a Jersey and keep doing that with each new calf and you will eventually get all Jersey, can you do that with chickens? Will that same rule apply if I do that with my new chickens I'm getting if I get a Silkie rooster? And if so how much would a Silkie rooster be?

I would say that he is a silkie roo. He doesn't have a very good comb though.

If he is a Silkie then I am happy but is there a way to find out for sure? I dont want to be breeding what I think are pure SIlkies and then sell them or eggs and have a buyer confront me with the fact they arent

Absolutely love that white hen with the black around the neck and tail, beautiful! I want one like that!
