Silkie thread!

So I am pretty worried. I picked up my white silkie rooster and a BUNCH of this gooey saliva dripped out of his mouth. What is going on! It drained out of his mouth for about 20 seconds as I just watched horrified!

The first time I saw my Black Silkie do that I thought she was dying! What really scared me was the first time I saw my Silkies do the sprawled "dead chicken" sunning themselves!!!

took my birds out to get some nice air on our 80 degrees day Wednesday....now its cold and rainy again. SPRING IS NEAR! SPRING IS NEAR!

this is my little "brindle" roo

this is Indie, Japanese bantam silkie

in the last two pictures are Milkshake and Malt, who are brother and sister, as well as siblings with Idie. the frizzle hen you see in the back is the mom to the chicks, and milkshake is the dad :)

I love your Sizzle girls hair, SO cute!

I have 2 super cute Silkies or Sizzles playing soccer in my incubator right now! A splash and a black or blue. The black/blue is really tiny, soooo adorable! I'll share pics when they dry off and/if the other 6 eggs hatch and everyone gets moved out of the 'bator. I had a couple of pretty long power outages while incubating this batch (one was more than 12 hours), so I'm impressed anything has hatched at all. And they really weren't as delayed as I thought they'd be either! Hopefully my 2 little peepers get some siblings soon :)

@bantambury I love the pic of the Japanese bantam silkie. I have silkie roos and a black tailed white Japanese bantam hen that I plan on hatching a couple of eggs from in April. It's interesting to see what they might look like.

Hello Silkie People!!!
I just wanted to know what I should be feeding my 5-7 month old Silkie girls, layer food or grower food? The older girls have been laying for a few months, I am almost finished the bag of grower food. I am thinking of putting them on layer food now, since they are all grow up now.

Please share your expertise and experience!!

Thanks!:D
