Silkie thread!

That's way too much iron, are they poultry vitamins ? If you feel that this is a cerebral hemorrhage a short course of prednisone may help with the swelling, however if it is wry neck or star gazing thiamine and a little vitamin E would be more effective.

You might find the articles on cerebral hemorrhage and prednisone helpful.
I got the polyvisol and aspirin today and gave them to her as soon as I got home. My vet is not a chicken vet. Although they go on farm calls i'm sure it's not for chickens. There are several vets in the clinic and I seem to have better luck with just one of them. He is the one that gave me the vitamins. I didn't look at the ingredients now wishing I had. I've tossed the other bottle of vitamins so I don't use it again. I just got online so I'll go and check that link you posted. I have that web site in my favorites already. It's a very handy one to keep.

Cerebral oedema
Thats what it sounds like is wrong with her but it's not hot weather. It was extremely cold. I'll see if I can get in touch with my vet tomorrow and get her a shot or some drops I can give her myself. I was wondering if a steroid would help.

This is my bator

These are two chicks that hatched under two different silkies. The dark one is a lot bigger than the yellow one, and it's only a weekish older. Also, it only has four toes. The yellow one has five. Is it just me, or does the dark one look like a Speckled Sussex?

If there is a swelling it could also be due to a trauma, prednisone comes in liquid form and the vet will explain not to stop using it suddenly but to wean them off it.

The yellow one looks like a cross to me. As does the speckled one.

I'm thinking it's more of a trauma. I printed off the info to give to my vet. I'm sure he can use the education. Usually when I bring a chicken they give me a break on the office visit and just charge me for any meds they give me.
